| TYPE OF FOOD ALLERGIES: Generally speaking, allergies to meats are more " fixed" than allergies to grains. Allergies to grains are more fixed than those to vegetables, and allergies to vegetables are generally more fixed than those to fruits. The author's clinical experience indicates that spices, flavoring oils, and chemical dyes are the most fixed of all food allergies. Cooking of the food allergens reduces the allergens by roughly 50 percent while alcohol ingestion increases them by an offsetting 50 percent.
