Glycerins

(Alcohol Free Extracts)

Glycerin - "A thick colorless, liquid, of a thick, syrupy consistence, oily to the touch, odorless, very sweet and slightly warm to taste"

United States Pharmacopoeia "1870"

Glycerin is a trihydric alcohol which contains not less than 95 % of C3 H8O3
Glycerin is a solvent similar to alcohol and is listed in the US Pharmacopoeia as an agent to administer certain constituents. Eclectic first makes an extract of the plant using organic alcohol, we then remove the alcohol using the Lloyd Extractor, invented by master chemist John Uri Lloyd. After the alcohol has been removed the glycerin is added. We then have flavored some of the glycerin's with the highest quality essential oils or freshly extracted juices. Glycerin is used as a preservative as well as an alternative to alcohol for the administration of herbal remedies.
