Nestled at the base of Mt Hood in the pristine Oregon countryside, we have a 90 acre certified organic farm that utilizes the natural rainfall and beautiful sunshine to grow herbs in rich volcanic soil. Eclectic Institute is a leader in organic farming practices, utilizing crop rotation, mulching, composting, and animal and beneficial insect allies such as birds, butterflies and bees.
Our crops include echinacea, black cohosh, elecampane, calendula, lemon balm, chamomile, and feverfew. We respect and help endangered medicinal plant species by cultivating many on our farm. Currently we have Echinacea Tenneeseensis and Goldenseal. Each year we collect and save the seeds, protecting the genetic integrity of the original plant for future generations.
